Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering | Resources for Online Students

As with many subjects in science and engineering, calculus is a demanding subject and many students are either not prepared academically or don’t know what is expected in terms of work demands in order to succeed. This document gives a few pointers and links to resources in order to help students better prepare for calculus.

  1. Good pre-calculus background is essential. Use this pre-calculus review.
  2. Practice is essential.  Seek help from the instructor or online tutoring.
  3. Don’t get behind. Get into a regular daily routine of studying.
  4. Recognize the time commitment. Devote two hours out of class for every hour in class.
